Characters

Still very much work in progress here but I figured I would write out some of my thoughts on the characters I will use as the story progresses.

  • Tyler Scott - He is our main character, early- to mid-twenties, tall, slim. A quiet type but highly intelligent. He won't talk your ear off about anything but also is not the invisible guy at the back of the room. He is a techy engineer but not the thick glasses, pocket protector type. An "average Joe" really. Grew up in a small town and is used to working hard and earning what he gets. Unimpressed by outright speed, he prefers a car that will corner well and remain stable no matter what he throws it through.
  • Calvin Hawke - Colin's best friend and work colleague. Also an engineer but flamboyant and outspoken. The two have known each other since childhood and have rarely been seen separated. Preferring the nickname "Cal", he is a big, muscular type though not a body builder, taller than Colin. He has always had Colin's back if the two found themselves being antagonized, which is rare due to his somewhat intimidating size and nature. His family has never been well off monetarily and with his high paying job he enjoys his newfound wealth. He does mind his family back home but can usually be found spending large amounts of money on clothes, food, drink, women and, of course, fancy cars. He will buy a car for looks before performance and would rather just cruise in style than race anyone.
  • George Greer - Proprietor of the garage where Tyler takes his car for repair and maintenance. The garage experiences a power outage casing him to send Tyler's car to Stephanie, a new shop owner in town, while repairs are made.
  • Stephanie Albrecht - Owner of a new shop in town and recently moved to Bayport from California where her father owns a German make specialty garage. She is a genius with cars and can recognize a car by sound alone. Very mechanically inclined and loves her work so much she would rather work on the cars than oversee the business.
  • Carlos Trujilo - Stephanie's business partner/assistant. He is a friend of the family and came with her from California to help her start up her own garage in Bayport. A veteran of the trade he is both car and business savvy. Since Stephanie works with a wrench more often than a pen, he handles the day to day dealings of the business.
  • Bill - Owner of the Grand Valley Raceway complex. He is a close friend to Stephanie's father and a very friendly man. He will often overdo his service and hospitality when he gets excited.
