Places

Oh the places you'll go! Here is a sampling of some of the settings I will use in this story. You should find everything from cities to shop and maybe even descriptions of rooms I use regularly.

  • Bayport - Our main city, this is the fictional city where Tyler and his friends live. As it's name would suggest it is situated on the coast somewhere and generates much of its revenue from shipping and the supporting industries. Not far from the sizable port lies a teeming downtown area with a fair share of skyscrapers and corporate buildings. It is dotted with large parks, outdoor marketplaces and the like. All in all a pretty happy, bustling town.
  • Tyler's Apartment - Overlooking the Bayport Marina and the nearby marketplace district of Bayport. It is a fifth floor suite/penthouse type place. If you have ever played around with PlayStation Home, I used Harbour Studio as the idea for the living room I describe. Expand the same feel for the rest of the apartment; a couple bedrooms, a couple bathrooms, modern kitchen, etc. As seen in Chapter 1, the front of the building looks out to a tree lined street for which I used Tokyo R246 after the first corner. This street would be only moderately busy despite it's proximity to the shopping and recreational areas.
  • Albrecht's Garage - Toward the center of Bayport between the commercial and industrial zones. It is situated on an abandoned airfield and makes use of the flat expanses for testing and tuning. As a bonus, they get a street lit by the old runway lights, which of course have been modified so that they are not mistaken for a runway. In GT5 the building is at the Red Bull Hangar.
